When you need a little smack of Glim

What has two thumbs and rhythm?

February 19th, 2008 by Jason

This Guy!!

I know I have been neglecting Glimsmack lately but it has been for a good cause. I recently returned to school at a local community college here in Pasadena. I think this is my 17th time taking college algebra. It has always been my achilles heel. It’s not that I can’t do the work. I am a Network Engineer for crying out loud, my whole career is an algebra problem. Life just seems to get in the way everytime. Not this time though, I will not let life beat me this time. I haven’t missed class or a homework assignment yet. Keep your fingers crossed.

I also started guitar lessons in January with my Uncle Michael. Tonight I found out that I actually have rhythm. I still can’t dance (except for the occasional running man) but it’s nice to know I may be able to someday……

Glimsmack isn’t the only thing being neglected, my 360 thinks I have been put in the witness protection program. I recieved “Assasin’s Creed”, “BioShock”, “Mass Effect” and “Super Mario Galaxy” for Christmas and haven’t pulled the plastic off. I haven’t even finished “Halo 3” yet.

**updated** Halo 3 is down.

I did have a little free time yesterday when my Mother came over. We hung out and watched “3:10 to Yuma“. I thoroughly enjoyed it but it reminded of my Papa. I can remember hanging out with him on Sunday’s and watching old westerns. I really do miss him.

I heard on XM that Rob Zombie is thinking about making his next film a western after seeing the remake of 3:10. I am kind of excited about that after seeing his version of “Halloween” and “The Devil’s Rejects“. I’ll never listen to “Free Bird” the same again after seeing the final scene from “The Devil’s Rejects”. Awesome.

On another note, I have only ran a few times this year. I haven’t put on my running shoes on in over a month. I don’t know what it is. I just don’t want to exercise anymore. I can’t put my finger on why yet. I haven’t gained any weight back from the 20 lbs. I lost last year but I’m afraid I might start to soon. I guess I need to quit being a little biotch and get to it…

Terri and I have been working on another project, hopefully there will be more to report on that at a later date.

My new favorite quote:

“Would I ever leave this company? Look, I’m all about loyalty. In fact, I feel like part of what I’m being paid for here is my loyalty. But if there were somewhere else that valued loyalty more highly, I’m going wherever they value loyalty the most.”

I just ran 2.25 miles at a 9’45” pace. Who wants to touch me?…..WHO WANTS TO TOUCH ME?

New stuff at Nike+ today

February 5th, 2007 by Jason

Nike+ has added some new features to their website that allows you to map out the routes you run. Then you can attach your workouts and compare them for that route. Very cool.
